Westpac Ruby winner

Westpac, in recognition for the great number of women in business, have developed the Ruby Connection. As the only Australian bank with a unit exclusively dedicated to supporting women the Westpac Women’s Market teams work in the community to help local businesswomen build sustainable and profitable futures by inspiring, promoting and connecting women in whatever they do.

In line with International Women’s Day Westpac Narrabeen announced the Northern Beaches Ruby of the Year winner, Mrs Robyn Beaumont who is in her second year of her business Colour the Green.

Robyn began her business Colour the Green whilst on long service leave when she wanted to play Lawn Bowls. She quickly realised that there were many new bowlers wanting to try the game "but could never see themselves dressing in the traditional whites”. Initially she approached Sporte Leisure, Australia’s leading golf apparel supplier and became a distributor of their colourful range of garments on to the bowling greens for casual bowls wear. Her business then rapidly grew as she was then approached by many well known national bowls brands to distribute their lines as well. Robyn runs a home/office internet based business with online sales from www.ColourtheGreen.com.au offering great prices on quality, colourful casual wear, golf apparel and bowls apparel and accessories.

Specifically for the lawn bowls market Colour the Green is an authorised distributor for Domino Bowlswear, Bowlswear Australia, Cathead Fashion, Kitty & Jack Apparel, Official Sport Supplies and Hunter Bowls which brings with it Taylor Bowls, Champion Bowlswear and Lady Bowlswear. With all these suppliers Colour the Green is now working with clubs across NSW to design and supply all aspects of their uniforms. With no ‘shop front’ overheads Colour the Green offers both individuals and clubs nationally a wide variety of bowls garments and accessories at extremely competitive prices.

For the golfers Colour the Green carries the quality, colourful Sporte Leisure and Greg Norman garments and the stunning Glove It range. As corporate clothing is a powerful way to advertise Colour the Green has also worked with both small and large businesses to deliver embroidered lines for workplace wear, a special events or sports uniforms.

Robyn knows that the growth of her business does not just come by operating an online business efficiently but it is really due to her networking and person approach. She visits clubs bringing displays of the stock and lines available and then personally returns to deliver all orders. Robyn very much believes that her attention to the customer has resulted in many referrals and new business opportunities that have helped to rapidly grow her business.
